Chelsea and Manchester United won vs. the online sports betting odds in Week 1 of the Premier League. Not much of a surprise was it? There were some interesting offshore sports betting results though in Week 1 Premier League action.
Online sports betting odds saw some routs in Week 1 but a few surprises. Chelsea winning against West Brom was no surprise but the Blues opened a few eyes by the margin of victory which was 6-0. United did their job in their opener as they routed Newcastle 3-0.
Big Bust: The big bust in Week 1 had to be Manchester City. They spent a ton of money in the off-season and were lucky to get a draw against Tottenham in the opener. If goalkeeper Joe Hart wasn’t great it would have been a loss for City.
Surprise: One of the surprises in Week 1 at SBG Global was Blackpool’s destruction of Wigan. That Blackpool was able to win was a minor surprise but the 4-0 score was a shock. It was a major disaster for Wigan who looked worse than last season. Now Wigan gets Chelsea this week. Can you say big time rout again? Another minor surprise was Aston Villa. They were a slight favorite against West Ham but won easily 3-0 as Marc Albrighton had two assists.
Blackburn got the win against Everton as Tim Howard bungled a save that handed Blackburn the only goal of the match. Howard wasn’t that good for the United States in the World Cup and his best days seem to be behind him.
Bolton and Fulham played to a scoreless draw while Wolves edged Stoke 2-1. Sunderland played to a 2-2 draw with Birmingham and Liverpool and Arsenal played to a 1-1 draw in a match that Arsenal dominated.
