Sports betting had the Portland Trail Blazers starting out strongly this season but they will have to continue without center Greg Oden who is likely to miss the rest of the season with a fractured knee cap. Oden was hurt in Saturday’s win over Houston. It is just the latest injury blow to Oden who was having a decent online sportsbetting season.
Sportsbetting had Oden colliding with Houston’s Aaron Brooks in the Trail Blazers 90-89 win. The Trail Blazers said that Oden will need surgery and that he is likely out for the year. “I’m obviously disappointed having worked so hard to get to where I was. This is a setback but I’ll be back. It’s in God’s hands now,” Oden said, “I want to thank the fans, my teammates and everyone in the Blazers family for all of their good thoughts.” Oden was the #1 pick in the 2007 NBA draft but has been injured more often than not.
He missed the entire 2007 sports betting season with a knee injury. Last sportsbetting year, Oden missed the games as well and finished the online sports betting year averaging just 8.9 points and 7 rebounds per game. This season he was better as sportsbetting stats show, averaging 11.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. “I thought he was the most consistent player this short season,” head coach Nate McMillan said, “For him to go through this, it’s just unfortunate for him because he worked so hard.” Oden was at least a factor defensively for the Blazers and impacting sports betting results.
It has been an injury-plagued online sportsbetting season for the Blazers. They are already without forward Nicolas Batum and Travis Outlaw. Rudy Fernandez has been in and out of the sports betting lineup as well. Portland has weathered things pretty well in sports betting though. The Blazers are 13-8 this season and are very much in the playoff race. They are just so-so against the sports betting odds though as they are 10-11 so far this season. They have struggled laying points at home as they are just 5-7 against the online sportsbetting number.
The loss of Oden will hurt the Blazers defensively as he was leading the team in rebounds and blocked shots as sports betting stats show. Portland is 3rd in the league in defense as sportsbetting statistics indicate.
