Sport betting continues to see the Texas Rangers make moves to get closer to the Los Angeles Angels in the American League West. The latest move takes one of the Angels players and moves him to Texas. Online sports betting had the Rangers signing Valdimir Guerrero to a one year deal with the option for a second year.
Sport betting had the deal being for $6 million plus $5 million in incentives for 2010 and a $1 million buyout. Guerrero is expected to immediately take over the DH role for the Rangers. He played in 100 games last sport betting year for the Angels and hit .295 with 15 homers and 50 RBIs. He has done pretty well in his career in Texas as online sports betting stats showed, as he is a .394 career hitter at Rangers Ballpark, with 14 homers and 33 RBIs.
Los Angeles did not really want to keep Guerrero considering he will be 35 years old next season. The Angels signed Hideki Matsui and they re-signed Bobby Abreu. The Angels lost John Lackey and Chone Figgins though so all is not well in L.A. and they are not overwhelming online sports betting favorites to win the division next season. Texas was second in the American League West last year, 10 games behind Los Angeles.
Online sports betting had seen Guerrero hit .321 in his career with 407 homers and 1,318 RBIs. He may have something to prove next year which would be very good news for Texas. The Rangers were not that far back of Los Angeles and considering the losses the Angels have suffered, Texas could be right there in sport betting during the 2010 baseball season.
Texas has a lot of young players that are starting to make an impact. Nelson Cruz had an excellent online sports betting season with 33 home runs last year and Scott Feldman led the team with 17 wins. Other young players like catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and pitcher Tommy Hunter could be poised to make a sport betting impact this season. Texas was 10th in the league last season in runs scored as sport betting stats showed. Their pitching was still not great, but it was improved, ranking 18th in the league. Texas was 87-75 last season so they are not that far from making the playoffs. An improvement of just a few games next sport betting baseball season would get them right into the playoff picture.
