Sport betting online could see the Boston Red Sox landing Toronto ace pitcher Roy Halladay. The race is on to see which of the high profile sports betting teams get Halladay and the early favorite is the Red Sox.
Sport betting online has the Red Sox putting on the full court press to acquire Halladay. The Blue Jays have a new general manager in Alex Anthopoulos and he is willing to deal Halladay. Last season at the trade deadline the Blue Jays looked to trade Halladay but a deal never got done. Former general manager J.P. Ricciardi put the price too high and teams were not willing to pay it. Now it appears the Blue Jays are going to trade Halladay but they probably won’t get what they could have gotten this past July. It will be interesting to see if teams will pay the price to get Halladay. At least Anthopoulos is willing to be realistic about the asking price and that is something that Ricciardi was not willing to do.
Halladay was 17-10 last sport betting online season with a 2.79 ERA and 208 strikeouts. Toronto did nothing though in overall sports betting as they were 75-87 overall. The Blue Jays finished 28 games behind the New York Yankees and that was with Halladay winning 17 games during the sport betting online season.
Losing Halladay would be a blow to Toronto but it is obvious the team needs to make some changes. Halladay has pitched his entire career with Toronto but has said he will accept a trade to a contending team. The other possible destinations are New York and Los Angeles. Unfortunately in baseball, there is no salary cap so the big money teams can go after the top free agents while the small market teams continue to struggle in sport betting online.
In other baseball sports betting news, the Chicago White Sox signed outfielder Andruw Jones to a one-year contract. Last season Jones was with the Texas Rangers and at least showed some power has he hit 17 home runs. The White Sox are looking at Jones as a bench player. Last sports betting season Jones batted .214 with 17 home runs and 43 runs batted in. Jones has gone from the top of the world with the Braves to falling apart in Los Angeles and now to a bench player/utility outfielder with the Chicago White Sox.
