Singletary is Clueless – There is starting to be no doubt now that San Francisco head coach Mike Singletary is in way over his head. This San Francisco team should win games with their talent. They are not. And now it is easy to see why. Singletary simply can’t coach. He was a fantastic player but he is not a good head coach. There is simply no way that Alex Smith should be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Yes, he can make good plays but for every good play he makes he makes a boneheaded one and it costs his team the game. The San Francisco owner actually came out on Monday and predicted his team would bounce back from 0-5 and win the division. With Singletary as head coach and Alex Smith at quarterback that doesn’t seem a likely sports betting scenario.
Backup Quarterbacks – The other problem for San Francisco is that they don’t have much behind Alex Smith. David Carr is the backup and he is a career loser at quarterback. The third-string quarterback Troy Smith is probably their best option but getting someone like Singletary to admit that is never going to happen.
