Arkansas is a Sports Betting Threat for fans with Mallett . Much of the attention in college football sports betting future odds will be on defending national champion Alabama but there is another team in the SEC that could be worth watching. The Arkansas Razorbacks return quarterback Ryan Mallett and a lot of other starters from last season and they could be a team to follow in online sports betting college football odds.

Sports betting odds on Arkansas list them as a 32-1 dark horse to win the national championship this season.  While those odds might sound long, the Razorbacks are actually given a chance to surprise this season. Mallett is the big reason that Arkansas is given a chance in the SEC.  He threw for 3,624 yards and 30 touchdowns last season for the Razorbacks.  He considered going pro but came back as he didn’t want to play just one year for Arkansas and then jump to the pros.

Mallett broke his foot back in February but he is expected to be at full strength to start the season.  Arkansas has a lot of returning talent, especially on offense. The Razorbacks return all of their top receivers from last year.  Greg Childs, Jarius Wright and Joe Adams combined for 118 catches and 19 TDs last season. The offense is going to put up a lot of points and Mallett is a Heisman Trophy candidate.  Arkansas should be better at running the ball as well.  Ronnie Wingo returns after averaging 6.5 yards per carry last season.

The defense was the problem for Arkansas last season but they have good news to start the season, as junior cornerback Isaac Madison returns from a knee injury after missing all of last year. He was considered the best defensive player on the team before he got hurt.

There is another reason that Arkansas could make a difference in the SEC in 2010, and that is their schedule. The Razorbacks will host Alabama and if they win that game, they could vault right into the national title picture.  Arkansas does have some tough road games at Georgia and Auburn but they have the talent to contend for an SEC title this season and it is not out of the question for them to be in the national title picture, especially if Mallett has a Heisman Trophy season.
