Do you know which NHL divisions are the best ones for your sports betting money?
Let’s take a look at the divisions and which teams are having the most online sports betting success against the NHL odds at SBG.
Central Division
The Central has last year’s defending Stanley Cup champs and they are not even the best team in the division. The Blackhawks are down from last year but they are still a solid team and Detroit is among the league’s best. What makes the Central so good is the depth. All five teams are in the hunt to make the playoffs. It would be extremely unusual to see an entire division of teams make the playoffs but it is not impossible.
Pacific Division
This is another division where all five teams could conceivably make the playoffs. Dallas is leading the division while Phoenix is playing very well. The Kings have slipped but Anaheim has taken their spot as the team to watch. The only disappointment in this division is San Jose. In fact, the Sharks are probably the most disappointing team in the league along with New Jersey.
Atlantic Division
This division has three teams that should make the playoffs and then two rotten teams. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and the Rangers look like playoff teams while the Islanders and Devils are going nowhere.
Southeast Division
This is perhaps the most underrated division in the league. The Washington Capitals get their due but what about Tampa Bay who is leading the division? Atlanta, Carolina and Florida are also not pushovers.
Northwest Division
The best team in the league resides in this division as Vancouver has played extremely well. It should be noted though that the Canucks are 11-1-0 against their own division and just 9-5-4 against teams outside the division.
Calgary and Edmonton have been terrible and they definitely drag this division down.
Northeast Division
This is a two team division right now but Buffalo is making some noise. Montreal and Boston have played well but in the Eastern Conference neither team is a sure thing to make the playoffs. Montreal has owned the division this seasons going 10-3-0 in sports betting versus Northeast teams and 14-14-3 against the rest of the NHL.
