Sports Betting – Broncos Continue Busting of BCS

September 22nd, 2021 Online Sports Betting Odds Line

Sports betting backers of Boise State may not have gotten the money but the Broncos still managed to beat Oregon State 37-24 as 17.5 point home favorites.

The Quest Continues
With that win Boise State improved to 3-0 straight up and an online sports betting mark of 2-1 against the spread.  The number three ranked Broncos ultimate goal of making the BCS Championship game has improved as it looks like their last real tests will not come until November when they have back to back games against Fresno State at home followed by a road game at Nevada.

Still Lacking Respect
Although there are plenty of fans and handicappers at SBG global that admire Boise State for their phenomenal 52-4 record under head coach Chris Peterson there are still plenty of skeptics and doubters in the overall public that think that the Broncos load up on cupcakes in an easy league.  While the Western Athletic Conference is not strong, Nevada and Fresno State will offer stiff challenges and Boise State has proven itself out of conference with wins over Oregon, TCU, Virginia Tech, and Oregon State this year.  But no matter what Boise State does, it is never good enough in the eyes of many college football snobs even though they have answered every challenge in the past two years.

Moore of the Same
Junior quarterback Kellen Moore continues to climb in Heisman Trophy esteem as he was razor sharp against Oregon State Saturday night with a national ABC audience watching.  Moore was 19-27 passing for 288 yards and 3 touchdowns.  He has improved upon his phenomenal numbers of last year with a 65.3% completion rate and an 8/1 touchdown to interception ratio.  He has already lit up opposing defenses for 873 yards and ranks as one of the biggest sports betting assets in college football.

One Point of Concern
If there is one aspect of Boise State that may be their eventual undoing it is their defense.  While it does rank 3rd overall for yards allowed the Broncos stop-unit ranks 49th in scoring defense.  Oregon State took advantage of Boise State’s overly aggressive style and was within a touchdown at 31-24 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  Boise State committed 8 penalties, which was the main culprit in their not covering the online sports betting spread.
