The Buffalo Bills are not expected to have a great season vs. NFL odds at sports betting companies even with a new head coach. Chan Gailey will be leading the Bills this sports betting season and it could be that Buffalo has a new starting quarterback as well. The Bills have a major quarterback race going on and even Brian Brohm is in the running.
Sports betting companies list the Bills behind New England, the New York Jets and Miami in the AFC East. The Bills could be in for another long season in 2010. Chan Gailey has only spent two years as an NFL head coach. He has never really proven he can win. He comes into a situation in Buffalo where the Bills have some serious questions so it seems unlikely the Bills will turn things around this year.
The Bills are looking at three quarterbacks this season. They have Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm. None of the three really inspire much confidence. Whoever wins the job may be on his back a lot in 2010 as the offensive line looks weak. The Bills have questions at running back and at receiver. Marshawn Lynch continues to complain about his contract situation so he may not even be in camp. Fred Jackson is a solid running back but not a full-time starter. The receiving corps is weak and Terrell Owens is gone. The team did draft C.J. Spiller so perhaps he can make some noise and impact sports betting odds.
The defense also has some major concerns. Aaron Schobel has 78 career sacks but he has said he is done. Aaron Maybin was the first round pick a year ago but he did next to nothing last year. The Bills will struggle to get pressure on opponent’s quarterbacks and that means they are in trouble.
Buffalo is young with 53 players on the roster at age 25 or younger. That is probably the best news for the Bills since perhaps the future could be better than the present. The Bills are going to be underdogs a lot in 2010. On paper they don’t seem to have the ability to win very many games. They may be able to cover the spread though if the numbers get high enough.
