Sports Betting – Donald Trump Tells Miami to Hire Mike Leach

John Gruden was rumored to be in the mix but he has said he doesn’t have an interest.

Donald Trump has gotten into the conversation as he sent a letter to university president Donna Shalala this week and recommended former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach.  If Leach got the job the Hurricanes would sure be exciting to watch and follow in online sports betting.

Mike Leach
The former Texas Tech coach would love to coach at Miami. He lives just three hours away in Key West so he is in the area.  Getting an endorsement from Donald Trump should not be discounted either.  He is friends with Shalala so his opinion holds some weight.  Trump recommended that Shalala hire Leach four years ago but she decided to go with Randy Shannon and that didn’t work out very well. Shannon was fired this past week after the team lost at home to South Florida.

Leach’s Reputation
Unfortunately for Mike Leach his reputation needs some repair. The problems he had at Texas Tech caused a lot of damage to his reputation.  There are quite a few coaching vacancies in college football but no one has called Leach yet.  Texas Tech fired him just about a year ago and the situation regarding Adam James, his father Craig James and ESPN is still not over with. Leach denied all of the allegations that he mistreated Adam James. He has sued the university for wrongful termination, and he also has a separate lawsuit against ESPN.

Miami Job
The Miami job is still considered a top college football job even though the Hurricanes have not won in a while.  Gruden didn’t want to go there though as he would prefer to stay in the NFL and he is happy doing Monday Night Football.  Speculation has Miami looking next at Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen who is a former Florida assistant coach. The Bulldogs went 8-4 this sports betting season and they are going to a bowl game. Mississippi State finished the regular season 6-6 against the college football odds at the Sbg global sportsbook.
