There are some sports fans that care little for car racing and those who care even less for NASCAR sports betting. Sports fans have been in love with the NASCAR Chase for the Points event ever since it was first introduced a few years back.  It is perhaps the greatest innovation in NASCAR sporstbetting history and it’s a shame it wasn’t developed earlier.  But fortunately for sports betting fans in the current era we have this so-called auto racing post season and it’s developed into one of the most exiting events in the sportsbetting universe.

Sports betting ranges all the board and no two sports fans’ taste are the same. But then there is also a great majority of sportsbetting fans that simply cannot get enough of the stock car racing and the for them the Chase is like the NFL and NBA playoffs and the World Series all-wrapped into one.

For sports fans unfamiliar with the Chase it’s very simple but ingenious competition devised by NASCAR to bring post-season type excitement and competition to the racing league.  The top 12 drivers from the regular season sports betting qualify to partake in the Chase action.  The regular season consists of a number of races through August in which the drivers compete not only in the sports betting odds, but also for points.  Points are assigned based on finishes, laps led, number of top ten finishes, poles won, etc.  At the end of the regular season the top dozen drivers with the most points compiled then compete in the remaining ten races and whichever of the 12 drivers emerges from the Chase events with the most points is then declare the sports betting champ of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup.

Because the points reset before the Chase begins the sports betting competition is wide open.  A driver that qualifies 12th for the Chase has just as much opportunity to win as the diver that qualifies first.  But in 2008, while the may be technically true, it seems as though the sports betting leader, Kyle Busch is light years ahead of everyone else.  He has blazed ahead of the entire sports betting field and leads in the points standing by several hundred points.  He has won six times already in the sports betting action and has numerous top five and top ten finishes.  Dale Earnhardt Jr. has won only once, but is second place in the points and perhaps has the best shot at catching Busch in the Chase sports betting.
