Sports Betting Fans Note Spain vs. Argentina Match.  You won’t have to wait long to see World Cup champion Spain on the sports betting odds board again against a top team. Spain will play a friendly against Argentina on September 7th at River Plate’s stadium in Buenos Aires.  It will be a very popular match between two world soccer powers.  The online sports betting odds might actually favor Argentina in that match depending upon who Spain decides to take on the trip.

Sports betting odds on Spain will be on the board next month as Spain plays an exhibition match at Mexico City on August 11th.  Spain plays their opening European Championship qualifier on September 3rd at Liechtenstein.  It is unlikely that Spain will have all of their top players for both the match against Liechtenstein and against Argentina.  The La Liga season opens in late August and many of the top players for Spain will be playing.  Argentina may not have their top player either as Barcelona plays at Racing Santander on August 29th. They play their home opener Sept. 12 against Hercules and then they begin Champions League play Sept. 14th or 15th.  It will be a very busy couple of weeks for the defending Spanish League champs.

Spain can pretty much forget about having all of their top players for their exhibition matches.  It should be noted that seven players were in Spain’s starting lineup that play for Barcelona. Those players are defenders Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol; midfielders Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez; and forwards Pedro Rodriguez and David Villa.

Spain is going to feel obligated in some way to have their best players in their opening matches since they are coming off a World Cup win. It just seems extremely unlikely that they can have many of them though.  There are just too many players that have other commitments with the La Liga season beginning in late August.  Before you make your wagers on the Spain friendlies it will be important to monitor which of the top players will be in the starting lineup.  That also holds true for Argentina who features Lionel Messi but they will have the advantage of playing the friendly against Spain at home so that might mean more of their top players are in the game.
