Freeney is Healthy and Colts are Sports Betting NFL Favorites.  The Indianapolis Colts are expected to have a healthy Dwight Freeney and that means their chances of covering the sports betting odds go up. Freeney is a dominant defensive player and when he is hurt the Colts are not the same team.  Indianapolis is the favorite in Super Bowl online sports betting odds at 4.5 to 1.

Sports betting odds list the Colts ahead of defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans to start the 2010 season.   Last season, Freeney suffered a third-degree ligament tear in his right ankle in the AFC championship game that the Colts won against the New York Jets. He played against the Saints in the Super Bowl but he was not at full strength.  Freeney was third in the NFL last season with 13.5 sacks.

The Colts are heavily favored in sports betting lines to win the AFC South this season.  The division is still not considered strong enough for any other team to challenge the Colts.  The Houston Texans have yet to make the playoffs while Tennessee is up and down and Jacksonville is very inconsistent.  The Colts have the best quarterback in the league in Peyton Manning and with Freeney healthy they have one of the best defensive players in the league as well who can really make an impact.

The Colts begin the regular season at Houston and they are a field goal favorite against the Texans.  The Colts have a tough opening slate as they are at Houston and then host the New York Giants before going on the road to Denver and Jacksonville.  That means three of their first four games this season are on the road.  The Colts are good enough to win anywhere though and they will need to be good since they have tough road games later in the season at Washington, Philadelphia and New England.  The Colts get a bad break as their bye week comes early in the season but at least they get a rest before a tough slate of games against Houston, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, New England, San Diego and Dallas.  The toughest games for Indianapolis this season figure to be the home contests against Dallas, Cincinnati and San Diego and the road tilt at New England.
