Marquee Matchups in Hoops at Sports Betting Websites

Marquee Matchups in Hoops at Sports Betting Websites. The college basketball season is just around the corner and some marquee games will be on the board at the sports betting website early in the year. Some top tournaments announced their matchups recently and there are some excellent ones that should be exciting in sports betting.

Sports betting website odds will be on the board when Kentucky plays Oklahoma in the opening round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.  Connecticut will also be in that tournament and they are matched up against Wichita State in the first round.  Michigan State will also get attention in that tournament as they face Chaminade in the first round.  There are eight teams involved in the Maui Invitation with Washington and Virginia meeting in the other first round game.

The semifinals and the final have some definite potential as it could be Michigan State facing Kentucky in the final.   The championship game of that tournament will take place on November 24th. Last season’s title game in that tourney was superb as Gonzaga beat Cincinnati in overtime.

Another tournament that will have a strong field will be the CBE Classic. It will feature national champion Duke who will play Marquette.  Kansas State will face Gonzaga in the other semifinal matchup. Those games will be November 22nd with the final played on November 23rd. Last season’s championship game in that tourney had Texas beating Pittsburgh.

The 2k Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer will begin on November 8th with marquee teams Pittsburgh, Maryland, Illinois and Texas leading a 12-team field.  The semifinals of that tournament are November 18th at Madison Square Garden with the championship game the next night. The other eight teams involved in that tourney are UC Irvine, Louisiana Tech, Navy, Seattle, Toledo, Charleston, Illinois-Chicago and Rhode Island.  Each of the teams in the tournament will play at least four games in the round-robin format. Last year it was Syracuse beating North Carolina in the championship game of the tourney.

Early season college basketball tournaments can be very important to big name teams as they get early exposure and early tests against other top teams. When it comes to NCAA Tournament selection time it can be games against quality opponents that determine whether a bubble team makes it into the field or not which is why early season tournaments are important.
