SPORTSBOOK BETTING LINES
Sports betting martingales are pretty easy to understand. A martingale is where you double up until you win. For example, if you lose $100 on your first bet, you simply bet $200 on your next wager. If that loses, you bet $400 on your next bet, and so on down the line until you get a win. The Martingale Theory sounds good to the average bettor, as the basic concept is that, eventually you are going to win.
The problem is that in reality, it never works out that way. Many sports betting gamblers have tried the Martingale Theory with table games such as roulette, simply using it on the near-even-money-wagers such as black or red, 1-18 or 19-36, etc. Many gamblers like to use the Martingale Theory in baseball sports betting, as they will take great teams such as the New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox after they have lost a game and begin to bet them Martingale style in a series of games versus the sportsbetting odds.
The Martingale Theory can also be used on football game days. For example, a sports book betting gambler could easily employ a three game Martingale on college football Saturday alone, or even extend it into a five game Martingale system if he wanted to roll it over into Sunday sportsbetting action. For example, the weekend football Martingale theory would begin with a Saturday morning game then extend to Saturday afternoon, then Saturday evening, then the first NFL game on Sunday morning, then Sunday afternoon. You could even Martingale the Sunday Night and Monday Night games if you wanted as you looked at sports book betting odds.
The ultimate problem with the Martingale theory in sportsbetting is that the one thing you don’t expect to happen will happen. You will lose that fourth, fifth, or sixth consecutive game, eventually, and then you are cleaned out for good and your sportsbetting bankroll gone.
The Martingale sure sounds exciting though doesn’t it? It has an appeal unlike any other sportsbetting system. It is exciting, yet dangerous. That is part of the problem though. Eventually the sportsbetting Martingale loses and when it does, your sportsbetting bankroll is gone.
