Ohio St. and Boise Lead Sports Betting Futures

Alabama, Ohio State and Boise State are the three sports betting favorites to win college football’s national championship. Alabama is the defending champ and they are the 3.5 to 1 favorite in Internet sports betting while Ohio State and Boise State also have single-digit odds.

Sports betting odds list Ohio State at 5-1 and Boise State at 8-1.  Alabama looks like the team to beat but they play in the toughest of the three conferences.  Alabama returns Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and a lot of other talented players including quarterback Greg McElroy.  The Crimson Tide does have some defensive questions but head coach Nick Saban is a defensive guru so he will have everything in place for another championship run.

Alabama is now on par in recruiting with teams like USC and Texas so don’t expect much of a drop from the Crimson Tide in 2010. The schedule is never easy in the SEC so it is possible that Alabama could lose a game. Their toughest sports betting games look to be October 2nd as they host Florida and at LSU on November 6th.

Ohio State is the second choice in the sports betting odds and they have an advantage since they play in the Big 10.  2010 is supposed to be the breakout season for quarterback Terrelle Pryor.  This is really the year he will either turn into a star or be just another failed big name quarterback. The defense is loaded as usual for the Buckeyes and the schedule is favorable. They have a tough game early at home against Miami of Florida and they go to Wisconsin in mid-October. If they get past those two games they could go unbeaten. The game at Iowa in late November could also be a stumbling block in Internet sports betting if the Hawkeyes are in the race.

Boise State is loaded again and for the first time they are a true national title contender in sports betting.  They will start the season in the Top 5 and if the go unbeaten they should play for a national title.  It is hard to say that one game will determine a season but that could be the case for the Broncos. They play Virginia Tech in their opener on September 6th.  If they win that game they will be in the national title picture. A loss and they are out. The WAC is not very good so if they get past the Hokies and then Oregon State it is clear sailing to another unbeaten season.
