Sports Betting Page – Deutche Bank Championship – Tiger Favored Again

Hey, Tiger finished tied for 12th last week at The Barclays so he should be favored by oddsmakers at the sports betting page again right?. Yep, Tiger is favored again even though he has not won a golf tournament in more than a year.  Tiger is 7-1 in sports betting to win this week’s Deutche Bank Championship.

Sports betting page numbers list Woods at 7-1 while Steve Stricker is 8-1.  The public seems to be figuring out that Phil Mickelson is not playing well as he is the third choice at 13-1.  They haven’t figured that out about Tiger though. He hasn’t won in a long time and he hasn’t been in serious contention to win all season.  The World Golf Rankings are made up based more on last year’s stats so they are worthless to look at.  Tiger is still ranked number one even though he hasn’t won a tournament this season.  Woods is playing better but a favorite?

Rory McIlroy is the co-third choice at 13-1.  Dustin Johnson is 15-1 while last week’s winner, Matt Kuchar is 17-1. Jim Furyk who overslept last week and was disqualified is 21-1 to win this week.  Paul Casey is also 21-1. He was snubbed by Colin Montgomerie for the Ryder Cup team so he may have a chip on his shoulder this week.

FedEx Cup Playoffs:  Keep in mind that this is the second event of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Only the top 100 players are in the event and only the top 70 advance to next week’s BMW Championship.  Only the top 30 after the BMW make it to the Tour Championship.

Real Favorite:  Based on the stats there is no question who should be favored at the Sbg global sportsbook and it is Kuchar. He won last week, he leads the FedEx Cup Standings and he leads the PGA Tour Money list.  Stricker is a decent second choice as he is second in the FedEx Cup standings and third on the money list.  Stricker also won this event last year.

Long shots:  Jason Day and Bubba Watson seem to be on the leader board every week and they are both 45-1. Stewart Cink needs to impress Corey Pavin so he can make the Ryder Cup team so he might be worth a shot at 50-1.
