Sports Betting Page – Russia vs. United States in FIBA Quarterfinals on Thursday. The FIBA World Basketball Championships are down to the final eight teams with the United States the focus of gamblers at the sports betting page as they play Russia on Thursday. The United States is heavily favored over Russia on Thursday at Sbg global. The United States had no trouble in the round of 16 as they demolished Angola by a score of 121-66. They should get past Russia but the game won’t be as easy as the one against Angola.

Russia’s Team – Russia is actually coached by an American.  David Blatt coaches Russia and he is a dual Israeli/American citizen.  His Russia team reached the quarterfinals by defeating New Zealand 78-56 on Monday. The Russian team is led by Timofey Mozgov, a 7-foot-3 rookie for the New York Knicks. He had 16 points and seven rebounds against New Zealand. Andrey Vorontsevich scored 18 points in the win.

U.S. Was Great on Monday – The United States finally played up to their potential on Monday. They dominated Angola 121-66 as Kevin Durant and Chauncey Billups led the way. Billups had 16 of his 19 points in the first half and all of Durant’s 17 points came in the first half. Even head coach Mike Krzyzewski was pleased with the performance.

U.S. Heavily Favored – Russia simply does not have the talent to match the United States in this game.  The U.S. is also rounding into top form. They didn’t play their best at times in the preliminary round but they were superb on Monday.  This should not be a competitive game as the United States looks to advance to the semifinals. It sounds interesting when Russia matches up against the United States but this is not hockey and the U.S. team will roll.

The semifinals of the FIBA will be played on Saturday with the championship game on Sunday. If things go as expected then the United States should be playing in the title game.  There look to be only two serious challengers to the United States.  Spain is the defending champion and they can definitely give the U.S. a game while Argentina also has some talented players who could make things interesting against the United States. Spain is heavily favored in their quarterfinal game against Serbia on Wednesday.
