Sports Betting Page – Patriots Sign Tom Brady to $72 Million Dollar Deal

New England quarterback Tom Brady sure has been getting some attention at the sports betting page. First he was involved in an auto accident and now he signed a huge $72 million dollar contract.  Brady was not hurt in the car crash and was practicing on Thursday. The bigger Internet sports betting news was the huge deal he signed.

The Patriots signed Brady to a four-year contract extension that is reported to be worth $72 million with $48.5 million guaranteed.  The extension means Brady will be with the Patriots through 2014. Brady is making $6.5 million this season in the final year of his deal. Brady was very good last season as he threw for 4,398 yards.  His touchdown total was down a little bit but he still threw 28 TD passes.  He did have 13 interceptions which were the most he had thrown since the 2005-2006 season.  Brady is still considered a top quarterback and the Patriots simply had to pay him the money.  This is not a franchise that spends money but Brady is the face of the franchise and they simply had to re-sign him.

Patriots Favored This Week – The Patriots host the Cincinnati Bengals this week and they are 4-point favorites at the Sbg global sportsbook.  The Patriots are still considered an elite NFL team and they are one of the main contenders to win the Super Bowl. It is not an easy opener though for the Patriots as they face last year’s AFC North champions who look improved with the addition of Terrell Owens.  The Patriots secondary will be tested on Sunday by Carson Palmer.  It could end up being a high scoring game with Palmer throwing TD’s for Cincinnati while Brady counters for the Patriots.

New England Even Money to win the AFC East – The Patriots were even money to win the AFC East along with the New York Jets. The Patriots are still considered by experts at the sports betting page to have an excellent offense with Brady throwing to Randy Moss and Wes Welker.  The questions for New England seem to be on the defensive side of the ball as they did not look good last season in the playoffs and they were torched in the preseason.
