Online Sports Betting Fans Note Piniella News

The Chicago Cubs are having another disappointing season vs. online sports betting baseball odds. It is extremely unlikely the Cubs will make the playoffs this season and they heard that manager Lou Piniella will not return.  Considering the Cubs have been overrated in offshore sports betting with Piniella as manager, Chicago may be better off without him.

Online sports betting odds often times favor the Cubs since they are a favorite team of the public.  Chicago has rarely lived up to expectations.  Piniella has won over 1,800 games in his career but his overall winning percentage is just barely over .500.  He will retire as the 14th-winningest manager in major league history but that is only because he has been around a long time.  He is in the fourth year with the Cubs and the last two years with the team have been poor.

Chicago has gone 102 years without a World Series title and they are pretty much a given not to make the playoffs this season.  The Cubs did win the National League Central in 2007 and in 2008 but last year they missed the playoffs and this year they have been a mess. Piniella started managing in 1986 with the Yankees and continued in his career by managing the Reds, Mariners, Rays and Cubs.

The Cubs had their chances to make the World Series in 2007 and in 2008 but some questionable decisions by Piniella and some bad luck cost the Cubs.  They have not been a contender the past two seasons even though they have star players like Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Zambrano.

The Cubs are one of the worst teams for offshore sports betting gamblers.  Chicago is still thought of as a capable team that can win in baseball but far too often they don’t.  Laying money with the Cubs has been a big money loser the past two seasons.  It will be interesting to see if Chicago plays better now that the news regarding Piniella’s departure has come out.  Perhaps they will play loose since they know that Piniella will be gone.  The pressure on Piniella to win will also be gone and that could also make it easier for him to manage.  Chicago is still too far back to be considered contenders but they might be worth a look sometimes during the second half of the baseball season.
