Sports Betting Site – Can You Believe Tiger is Favored Again This Week? What will it take for the odds makers at the sports betting site to not favor Tiger Woods? Amazingly enough, Tiger is favored again this week at the BMW Championship. Tiger has not won in over a year, doesn’t even finish in the top 10 and yet he is the sports betting favorite again.
Tiger is 5.5 to 1 at Sbg global.com to win this week’s BMW Championship. This is the next to last event of the FedEx Cup season with only 70 players making it this far. Only the top 30 will advance to the final event which is the Tour Championship.
Who should be Favored? We say this seemingly every week but the favorite should not be Tiger Woods. You simply can’t favor a golfer who hasn’t won in over a year. Yes, Woods is playing better but he still hasn’t been a serious threat to win. So again, who should be favored? Ignore the World Golf rankings. They are worthless. They are based on last year’s rankings. How can Tiger still be ranked #1 in the world? It is ludicrous. The real rankings to consider are either the FedEx Cup Standings or the PGA Tour Money List.
Even the FedEx Cup standings are somewhat skewed since they put more value on the last few events. So let’s look at the money list. Matt Kuchar is the leading money winner on the tour this season and he also leads the FedEx Cup standings. He would be a deserving favorite in sports betting. He is the fifth choice at 18.5 to 1. He should at least be the second choice if not the favorite this week.
FedEx Cup Standings and Money List – Kuchar leads both lists. Other players who are in the top 10 in both lists are Ernie Els, Steve Stricker and Hunter Mahan. Stricker is the second choice in the golf odds this week along with Phil Mickelson and Stricker probably should be the favorite based on the numbers. Mahan would be another solid choice but he is 42-1 this week. He has great value at the sports betting site. Another great value pick would be Adam Scott as he seems to have found his game again. Last week’s winner Charley Hoffman shouldn’t be forgotten as he is 58-1.
