AFC West Improvement Expected at Sports Betting Website

AFC West Improvement Expected at Sports Betting Website. The San Diego Chargers are still favored at the sports betting websites to win the AFC West but the other three teams are not considered doormats this season. The Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos may not be up to the level of the Chargers but they are getting closer and the sports betting odds indicate as much.

Sports betting website odds list the San Diego Chargers as 5-1 favorites to win the AFC West. Those odds may be a little bit high considering the fact that the Chargers are missing their best offensive lineman and best wide receiver.  They could be high also because the rest of the division looks better. The Denver Broncos are the second choice to win the AFC West and they are followed closely by Kansas City and Oakland.

The Chiefs look to be vastly improved this season. They have two new coordinators that know how to win in Charlie Weis and Matt Cassel. They have a veteran running back in Thomas Jones who can help Jamaal Charles and there is real optimism in Kansas City that the Chiefs could have a winning season in 2010.  The Chiefs have a lot of talent on the roster that has underperformed as they have five former number one picks.  If they get kicked in the rear as expected by the new coaches the Chiefs could have a lot of success.

The Broncos started last season at 6-0 and they have some talent and a lot of interest because of rookie quarterback Tim Tebow is on the roster.  The Broncos did lose linebacker Elivs Dumervil to injury and that hurts but they are still capable of winning games.

The Raiders have a new quarterback in Jason Campbell and he immediately makes them better since anyone other than JaMarcus Russell would be a huge improvement.  The Raiders do have some talent but they still have Al Davis as their owner and Tom Cable as head coach so it is hard to get too excited about the Raiders.

The Chargers are still the favorites in the AFC West for 2010 as they have a potent offense led by quarterback Philip Rivers but overall the division looks stronger and more competitive than a year ago.
