Sports Betting Website – Cardinals Discard Former Heisman Winner Leinart

Sports Betting Website – Cardinals Discard Former Heisman Winner Leinart. Former Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart made the news at the sports betting website over the weekend when the Arizona Cardinals cut him.

Leinart could end up as one of the biggest NFL draft busts of all time. He was supposed to be the franchise quarterback for Arizona but now he is looking for a job.  The Cardinals open up the season at St. Louis and they are 4-point road favorites at sports betting companies.

Monumental Failure – The release of Leinart marks the end of his time with Arizona.  The Cardinals took Leinart with the tenth overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft. He was thought to be a franchise quarterback. Instead he turned out to be a franchise failure.  He started 11 games as a rookie and the first five games in 2007 but when he got hurt that season it was Kurt Warner who took over and the rest is history.  Warner led Arizona to a Super Bowl and an exciting win over Green Bay last season. He retired after last season and it was thought that Leinart would finally win the starting job.  He didn’t.  The Cardinals decided to go with Derek Anderson as the starter and they simply couldn’t keep a player like Leinart on the roster in a backup role.

Leinart the Whiner – Leinart complained in the preseason about his head coach Ken Whisenhunt and that was really the last straw.  Leinart had been a whiner and complainer on the field and now he was complaining off the field. The Cardinals simply had to cut their losses and admit they made a mistake with Leinart.  In his career with Arizona, Leinart threw for 3,893 yards with 14 touchdowns but 20 interceptions.

Arizona Might Surprise with Anderson – There is no question that some bettors at Sbg global are writing off Arizona without Warner but the Cardinals might be better than people think.  Leinart simply was a cancer on the team and they are better off without him.  Almost every player supports Anderson as the starting quarterback and rookie Max Hall out of BYU has looked great as the backup.  The Cardinals could be undervalued at the sports betting website and they could be a team to watch in 2010.
