Sports Betting Website – Forget about Justine Henin in the U.S. Open

Sports Betting Website – Forget about Justine Henin in the U.S. Open. One of the favorites in tennis odds at the sports betting website for the U.S. Open is out as former number one Justine Henin is injured. She was one of the main contenders on the women’s side and would have gotten some sports betting support in U.S. Open odds. Not anymore.

Sports betting website odds list Serena Williams as the 8-5 favorite to win the U.S. Open which begins late this month.  Williams is not healthy either but she will probably play.  Henin would have been a threat but she injured her elbow at Wimbledon and has not been the same since. Henin will now be out for the rest of the tennis season. Henin is a former world number one and a seven-time Grand Slam champion. She was second to Serena Williams earlier this year at the Australian Open.  She lost in the fourth round at the French Open to Samantha Stosur.

Current U.S. Open Odds:  The latest U.S. Open odds at SBGglobal have Serena Williams as the favorite with Kim Clijsters getting some action at 2.5 to 1.  Maria Sharapova is also getting a look at 4-1. Not many of the other women’s players excite gamblers. Venus Williams is 9-1 but her best days are behind her.  Victoria Azarenka would be a better choice at 8-1. None of the other women have odds of less than 15-1.  Maybe a flyer on Ana Ivanovic would be worth it but she is better to look at than she is to wager on.  Caroline Wozniacki is 18-1 but she still hasn’t proven she can win on the big stage.  Perhaps a young player like Samantha Stosur can make an impact but she seems better suited to clay courts.

Longshots:  Stosur is 30-1 but your money might be better spent on someone like Jelena Jankovic or Vera Zvonareva who are 20-1.  Two other players who are drawing attention at odds of 20-1 are Aravane Rezai and Na Li.

Who to Bet:  If you are going to wager on the U.S. Open then taking Clijsters or Sharapova may be the way to go.  There is no value on Serena at 8-5 and none of the long shots have proven they can win.
