The Phoenix Suns have fallen below the .500 mark and they have really looked bad against NBA odds at the sports betting website recently. Phoenix has been without All-Star guard Steve Nash for the past two games and they have been blown out against the NBA odds at sports betting companies.
Nash Likely Out on Monday
It is unlikely that Nash will play at Houston on Monday and that is bad news for Phoenix. The only positive for the Suns is that Houston is not playing well either. The Suns may actually play better on Monday because head coach Alvin Gentry is furious at how they have played recently. Gentry actually called three timeouts on Saturday night within five minutes because his team was playing so badly against Charlotte. He was screaming at the team after the game in the locker room. He was extremely upset that the team allowed a Charlotte team that was averaging 93 points to put up 123 on his team.
Three Bad Losses
Look at the scores of the last three games for Phoenix and you will understand why Gentry is upset. They lost 123-96 at Miami last Wednesday, 105-89 at Orlando on Thursday and then 123-105 at Charlotte on Saturday. That is about as bad as it can get in the NBA.
Suns Taking No Chances with Nash’s Injury
The Suns are taking a very cautious approach with Steve Nash’s injury. They do not want anything to happen long term to their meal ticket. Nash has a groin injury and the Suns are being careful. Nash does not want to sit out but he is aware that he could miss two to three weeks if he is not fully healed when he comes back. Nash would like to play Monday but the team is leaning toward holding him out on Monday in the game vs. the Rockets which means the Suns will be underdogs in NBA odds at Sbg global.com. The NBA schedule at the sportsbook website indicates that the Suns are home on Wednesday against Chicago and that seems like a much more likely game for Nash to play in. It would give him extra time to heal and he would be at home for his return to the lineup and Phoenix is a much better team at home than on the road.
