The F1 circuit moves to the Spanish coast this weekend for the European Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton is a slight favorite to win this week with Sebasitan Vettel and Fernando Alonso the co-second choices. The circuit at Valencia is not known for passing so qualifying could very well determine the sports betting online winner.
Sports betting odds on F1 action have undergone some changes the past few weeks as the McLaren cars are outperforming the Red Bull cars. It was the other way around earlier this season. Hamilton has the points lead by three points over Jenson Button with Mark Webber six points back. Fernando Alonso is fourth while Vettel is fifth. Any one of those five drivers could win this week with Hamilton the 2-1 sports betting favorite.
Not many of the drivers like the Valencia circuit because there is not much room to pass. Fernando Alonso is confident though of winning this week with upgrades to his Ferrari. He is fourth in the standings but within range of Hamilton. His teammate Felipe Massa could also be a contender this week. Alonso has not won since the first race of the year in Bahrain.
Last year it was Rubens Barrichello pulling off the upset to win this race. That result seems highly unlikely this year. Massa might be the best chance for an upset win as he has F1 odds of 12-1. Last year it was Hamilton winning the pole but he had a bad pit stop that cost him the win. Last year’s race was not a good one for Red Bull as Vettel blew and engine while Webber finished ninth. Two years ago it was Massa winning this race from the pole. It was a race in which nothing happened which is why the drivers didn’t have many things to say favorable about the Valencia course.
When you look to pick the F1 winner in this F1 race you really don’t need to look much farther than the front row. The pole winner should be heavily favored at Valencia. It is possible to come from a spot or two to win this race but it sure is difficult. One of the top five drivers in the standings should win this race with Massa a long shot possibility.
