The FireKeepers Casino 400 – the 15th race in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, kicks off this weekend at the Michigan International Speedway. Although it’s gone by different names in the past, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series represents the premier stock car auto racing league. Jimmie Johnson
Michigan International Speedway is one of those rare examples of a course where the auto racing betting legend has won only once (2014). However, he does have seven top 20 finishes and four top 5s – including 2nd place in 2011. JJ followed up a win at the AAA 400 Drive for Autism with a 36th place in the Poconos.
Martin Truex Jr.
Marty True (oh yeah; fans who bet on auto racing better believe we’re trying to make Marty True happen) has yet to score a win in Michigan, though he came in second twice in 2007 and third also twice in 2015, as well as in 2013. The current Driver standings leader finished 6th at the Pocono 400 which is good enough to keep Kyle Larson – who finished 7th – at bay by one point.

And speaking of being second best, Harvick was the runner up at MIS four times in two straight years as well three consecutive times at the Pure Michigan. Furthermore, he came in 5th at both races run in Michigan last year, and won the 2010 Carfax 400 – also held at Michigan International Speedway.
