Chiefs Sign Ashley Lelie – Sportsbook

Sportsbook tells us that the Kansas City Chiefs signed wide receiver Ashley Lelie, hoping he can upgrade their receiving corps. In 107 games, Lelie has caught 217 passes for 3,749 yards and 15 touchdowns as offshore statistics tell us.

Sportsbook info shows that Lelie has played for Denver, Atlanta, San Francisco and Oakland in his career.  It is somewhat rare for a team to bring in a receiver after the preseason begins but the Chiefs believe Lelie can make a difference.  Lelie believes he can catch up quickly and he doesn’t think it is too late. “I don’t think it is (too late). Especially with the coaches bringing me in, they must not think so either. They think I have a pretty good shot.” Lelie said.

Kansas City has not been happy with the wide receivers they have other than Dwayne Bowe.  They brought in Bobby Engram and Amani Toomer in the sportsbook off-season and now they have added Lelie.  The difference with Lelie is that he has the breakaway ability that neither Engram nor Toomer has.  If Lelie has a strong preseason he could easily turn into one of Kansas City’s wide receiving options this season as offshore sportsbook stats indicate.  The problem for Lelie throughout his career has been living up to his potential.  He has been considered a deep threat for many years but too often he drops balls and is not healthy.  Perhaps in Kansas City he can revitalize what has been a disappointing NFL career.

Offshore sportsbook info tells us that Kansas City has an entire new philosophy this season with new head coach Todd Haley and quarterback Matt Cassel.  The Chiefs are looking to have some success throwing the ball with Cassel and they are taking a chance on Lelie.  Kansas City plays in the weak AFC West so they have a chance to vastly improve in NFL betting at the sportsbook.

The Chiefs are 63-1 longshots in NFL betting to win the Super Bowl at the sportsbook.  They are 13-1 longshots along with the Oakland Raiders just to win the AFC West at the sportsbook behind San Diego and Denver.  The Chiefs could be an interesting team to follow this season in terms of sportsbook odds.  Haley should have the team improved offensively and their defense is making strides as well through the draft and through free agency so Kansas City should be entertaining in terms of online sports betting odds at the offshore sportsbook.
