Super Bowl odds favor two AFC teams as the Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers are favored to win Super Bowl XLIV. The Colts are 3-1 while the Chargers are 3.5 to 1 in Super Bowl betting. The New Orleans Saints have the lowest Super Bowl odds of any NFC team at 4-1.
Super Bowl have only five teams with odds of 10-1 or lower. The previously mentioned Colts, Chargers and Saints along with Minnesota who is 7-1 in Super Bowl and Dallas who is 10-1. All of the other teams in Super Bowl betting have higher odds, some much higher.
The New England Patriots still get a lot of respect although they have not looked like a team that can win this season in Super Bowl betting. They are 11-1 as the playoffs begin. They are followed by the Philadelphia Eagles who are 16-1 in Super Bowl. Green Bay is listed at 21-1 in Super Bowl and they are actually lower than last year’s Super Bowl runner-up, the Arizona Cardinals are 22-1. That is despite the fact that Arizona is favored to beat Green Bay in their playoff game. The Baltimore Ravens are 28-1; the Cincinnati Bengals are 35-1 while the New York Jets are the longest shot in Super Bowl at 40-1.
In addition to Super Bowl , there are also odds to win the AFC and to win the NFC. If you are unsure about a team winning the big game but like them to at least get there, you can make that choice. In the AFC it is all about the Colts and Chargers. The Colts are about even money while San Diego is 2-1. New England is just over 5-1 while the other teams are really not given much of a shot. Baltimore is 12-1, Cincinnati is 17-1 and the Jets are 20-1. The NFC is all about the Saints and Vikings. New Orleans is just about even money while Minnesota is 2.5 to 1. The Cowboys are 5.5 to 1 while the Eagles are 8-1. Arizona and Green Bay are 9-1. The NFC is definitely considered more wide open than the AFC. Not one team in the NFC has double-digit odds to win the conference.
The team with the best record entering the playoffs is the Indianapolis Colts and they are the favorite in Super Bowl betting.
