First BCS Standings Released Online Sportsbooks

Online sportbooks pay some attention to the polls and one of the main ones they look at is the BCS one. The first BCS standings of the college football betting season have been released with Florida holding the top spot. The Gators were second in the AP poll this week but Internet sportsbook has them first in the BCS standings.

Online sportbooks info has Florida, Alabama and Texas with the top three spots in the first BCS standings. In reality it doesn’t matter where Florida and Alabama are in the Top 3 as online sportbooks numbers show, since they will likely meet in the SEC title game with one of them playing in the national title game if things stay the way they are as Internet sportsbook info indicates.

The Gators are at (.988) in the BCS standings and that is just barely ahead of Alabama who is at (.952) while Texas is at (.891) and third in the BCS standings as the sportbooks numbers have it. Boise State is in fourth position in the BCS standings but well behind Texas at (.808) as sportbooks notes. It is more likely that Boise will fall in the standings as the weeks go by rather than rise because the Broncos remaining schedule is weak as sportbooks schedules show.

If things stay on track with no major upsets in online sportbooks results, then it would be Texas playing the winner of the SEC title game which would match Florida and Alabama. College football betting upsets do happen though as those that bet at online sportbooks are well aware so keep these standings in mind.

Also it is an interesting sportbooks fact to note that since the BCS has been started, the top two teams in the first standings have reached the title game once. And with the current standings it is almost a given that Florida and Alabama won’t meet in the title game this sports betting year either. On paper it would seem that Boise would have a chance as Internet sportsbook stats show but they don’t. Online sportbooks have them likely to be passed in the BCS standings by Cincinnati, Iowa and USC if those teams remain unbeaten. Internet sportsbook info shows that Boise State could play in a BCS bowl game but they would need to finish in the Top 12 of the BCS standings and then hope that TCU doesn’t pass them. TCU is in eighth place in the BCS standings as online sportbooks info shows.
