Sportsbook News: Four Teams with Single-Digit Super Bowl Odds . There are four teams that have single-digit odds on the futures board at the sportsbook to win Super Bowl XLV. The defending champion New Orleans Saints and runner-up Indianapolis Colts are 8-1 in sportsbook online odds while the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers are 9-1.
The Saints could be overvalued in Super Bowl odds considering they did not have overwhelming stats last year in their Super Bowl run. They were also very fortunate to get past Minnesota in the NFC Championship game. Teams oftentimes will have a letdown the year following a Super Bowl victory and that could apply to New Orleans this season. The Colts always seem to be in the mix and they should be a factor all year. Whenever you have Peyton Manning at quarterback you have a chance.
The Cowboys are the team that has gotten a lot of attention in the off-season. A lot of experts really like the addition of Dez Bryant at wide receiver. The Cowboys took him with their first pick in the NFL Draft and he is expected to make an immediate impact. What should not be forgotten though is that Wade Phillips is still the head coach at Dallas and he has never proven he can win consistently when in charge. San Diego still has Norv Turner as their head coach and until they changes they are overvalued at 9-1.
Other teams in the mix in 2010 should be the Minnesota Vikings if Brett Favre returns at quarterback. They probably should have beaten the Saints last season and reached the Super Bowl. The Vikings have some value at 14-1 in Super Bowl odds. The New England Patriots are listed at 10-1 and a bounce back year from Tom Brady could be expected. He did not play well in the playoffs last season. The AFC East is a very tough division though and the Patriots might actually be overvalued at 10-1. The New York Jets are right there as well at 12-1. They made a number of off-season moves that should put them right in the hunt. Green Bay is the other team with odds of less than 20-1 as they are 12-1 to win the Super Bowl. The Packers have Aaron Rodgers but they have yet to show they can beat Minnesota when it counts and if Favre comes back the Vikings would be a better pick.
