Grizzlies Sending Thabeet to D-League

Grizzlies Sending Thabeet to D-League.  Sportsbook has the Memphis Grizzlies set to send #2 overall pick Hasheem Thabeet down to the D-League. Thabeet would become the highest draft pick ever to go down to the D-League.  Thabeet has simply not made a sportsbook online impact with Memphis this season and his minutes have diminished.

Sportsbook indicates that only in the first two seasons of a player’s career can they be sent to the D-League. Thabeet will be sent to Washington’s D-League affiliate in North Dakota.  Memphis has struggled lately in sportsbook results and the news about Thabeet is not likely to help.  It appears that Memphis made a major blunder in the NBA Draft taking Thabeet with the second pick.  They could have had local college star Tyreke Evans who is leading the Sacramento Kings in scoring this sportsbook online NBA season.

Thabeet was expected to make an immediate impact in sportsbook online results but it simply has not happened for the 7-foot-3 center. He was backing up starting center Marc Gasol but head coach Lionel Hollins has said that Hamed Haddadi is now going to take over that role. Thabeet is averaging just 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 10 minutes per game as sportsbook statistics indicated.

The NBA doesn’t really talk much about their “minor league.”  You don’t hear much about the D-League or the affiliations for each of the NBA teams.  In this case you will hear more simply because Thabeet was a high draft pick.  A #2 pick is simply not supposed to go down. Martell Webster was the #6 pick in the NBA Draft a few years ago with Portland and he was sent down. Sportsbook had him as the highest draft pick ever to be sent down before Thabeet.

Memphis was a part of the playoff picture in the Western Conference a few weeks ago.  They have fallen back in that race recently as sportsbook had it and realistically they are not going to make it.  The Grizzlies do have a team of talented young players but they really have missed what Thabeet could have added as a #2 pick.  Memphis has still been a team worth following at the sportsbook as they are above .500 vs. the sportsbook online point spread this season.  The Grizzlies are 6th in the league on offense but their defense is weak at just 23rd in the league.
