Mets Place David Wright on DL Sportsbook

Sportsbook information tells us that the New York Mets season just got worse as the team placed third baseman David Wright on the 15-day disabled list.

Sports betting information tells us that Wright was hit in the head by a Matt Cain fastball on Saturday night and team doctors recommended he be put on the DL.  It is just another blow to a Mets team that has struggled this season versus offshore sportsbook baseball odds.

Sportsbook odds on the Mets haven’t seen them favored that often in recent weeks because of their poor play.  Without Wright it seems likely the Mets will fall even further in offshore sportsbook odds.   The Mets could be without their All-Star third baseman for longer than just 15 days as sportsbook info indicated.  Online betting information had Manager Jerry Manuel saying that it is possible the Mets may lose Wright for the rest of the season.  “It’s going to depend on the tests,” Manuel said. “If there’s any question, it’s a possibility.”

Wright was hit just above the earflap in the fourth inning on Saturday as sportsbook info showed.  He was eventually able to walk off the field but he has experienced post-concussion symptoms since.  The Mets are going to be cautious, especially since this season is lost. “I do believe we have to be cautious with this and we will be,” Manuel said.   Wright has been one of the few bright spots as sportsbook stats tell us.  He is hitting .324 with eight homers and 55 RBI as offshore sportsbook stats indicate.  He is just the latest Mets player to be out of the sportsbook lineup with injuries.  New York is now missing Wright, Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado and their losses have affected sportsbook lines.

Sportsbook notes tell us that the Mets have really done a poor job this season handling injuries so they are going to be cautious with Wright so they don’t face any further criticism.  Reyes, Delgado and Beltran were expected back long ago but all three are still out and Delgado may be out for the sportsbook baseball season.

Because they play in the National League East, the Mets have still been considered a sportsbook longshot to make a playoff run.  That offshore sportsbook talk should now end with Wright’s injury.  Baseball odds at the sportsbook has them 95-1 now to win the World Series.
