Rodriguez didn’t seem worried about his job after the loss to Ohio State. “There’s not a magic formula to winning championships,” he said, “I have been humbled, but I do have a pretty good idea of what it takes to win in this league and every other league, because we’re Michigan and have a great brand name doesn’t exclude us from having that same formula.” Rodriguez had great success at West Virginia but so far that success has not carried over to Michigan.
Finishing 1-7 in the Big 10 is not going to get the job done but many people believe that Rodriguez can turn things around with his own recruits. He was stuck with players that were not his own two years ago while this year’s team was just his first recruiting class. Next season is supposed to be the year when Michigan excels versus the odds at online sportsbooks. The Wolverines still get a lot of respect at the Internet sportsbook. Michigan is oftentimes favored when perhaps they should not be and less of an underdog than they should be.
