Sportbooks betting has Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh as a Heisman Trophy candidate and he has already picked up one award, the Lombardi Award given to the nation’s top lineman.
Sportsbooks don’t favor Suh winning the Heisman but he has gotten a lot of publicity in the last week and it would not be a huge shock to see him win in an upset in sportbooks betting.
Sportbooks betting saw Nebraska nearly win against Texas in the Big 12 title game and the main reason they had a chance was the play of Suh. He was recognized this week as the nation’s best lineman as he won the Lombardi Award. The Cornhuskers lost 13-12 to Texas but they did cover the sportbooks betting pointspread at sportsbooks in that game.
Suh has a super sportbooks betting college football season. He had 82 tackles, 23 of which were for losses, and 12 sacks. It is simply amazing that a defensive tackle had that many sacks. In the Big 12 title sportbooks betting game against Texas he had 12 tackles, including a school-record seven tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks. That performance has put him high on the list of many in sportbooks betting. “I went out in that game and all I wanted to do was come out with the Big 12 championship ring and unfortunately it ended the way it did and I didn’t get a chance to do that,” he said. “I don’t know exactly how much that weighed into it, maybe a little bit, maybe a lot. I don’t know.”
Suh could win more awards before all is said and done in sportbooks betting. Sportsbooks have him as a finalist for the Walter Camp Award, the Lott Trophy, the Bednarik Award and the Outland Trophy. And he is about a 5-1 choice in sportbooks betting to win the Heisman at sportsbooks.
Sportbooks betting indicate that that had not been a Nebraska player win the Lombardi Award since Grant Wistrom won in 1997. A total of five Nebraska players have won in the history of the award. Nebraska had a great defensive sportbooks betting season and Suh was the big reason why. He was very respectful having won the award. “In my eyes this is a very huge one, especially at my position,” he said. “The guys that are the unsung heroes in college football and football all-around, guys that just do the dirty work and get the job done for everybody else are the defensive linemen and offense linemen.”
