New Jersey Nets Fire Head Coach Sportbook

Sportbook has seen the New Jersey Nets go winless this season and their lack of success has cost head coach Lawrence Frank his job.  Frank was fired on Sunday so he was not on the bench for New Jersey’s sportbook game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nets are off to the worst start in NBA history as offshore sportsbook stats indicate.

Sportbook had assistant coach Tom Barrise on the bench for Sunday’s game against Los Angeles.  A new coach had not been chosen yet and few candidates have emerged to lead the worst team in the NBA. “I want to thank Lawrence for more than a decade of service to the Nets, first as an assistant coach and then as the head coach for the past six and a half seasons,” Nets president Rod Thorn said, “Lawrence always approached every day with a passion for his craft that was infectious, and his dedication to the game as well as his work ethic are to be both admired and appreciated. I wish he and his family only the best of good fortune in the future.” Frank is the second coach this offshore sportsbook season to be fired.  Byron Scott of the New Orleans Hornets was let go a couple weeks ago.

The two leading candidates as sportbook info had it for the Nets coaching job are assistant coach John Loyer and Nets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe.  Frank was not always a poor head coach for the Nets.  His overall record as sportbook statistics show is just under .500 at 225-241. The team this season has been decimated by injuries and includes four sportbook losses of three points or less.  Before Sunday’s sportbook contest, the Nets were averaging an NBA worst 85.6 points per game. They were shooting a league-worst 40.3 percent from the field as offshore sportsbook numbers indicate.  Things have gotten worse lately in sportbook results as ten of their losses have come by double digits.  That includes the latest sportbook games on this West Coast road trip.  Getting Devin Harris back and healthy should help but so far he has not been able to lead them to a win.

Assuming they lose to the Lakers as expected in sportbook results, the Nets will have lost 17 straight games. Before Sunday’s sportbook game the Nets were also poor against the odds at the offshore sportsbook at 5-11.
