Slaton May Have Lost Starting Job Sportsbooks Betting

Sportsbooks betting this year and last year on the Houston Texans has been affected by running back Steve Slaton’s performance but perhaps no more. The second-year running back has fumbled so often for the Texans that he may have lost his starting job to Ryan Moats who has been a career backup and rarely impacted odds at sportsbooks.

Sportsbooks betting last year had Slaton running for a Houston Texans franchise record 1,282 yards.  He was considered an up and coming superstar in sportsbooks betting stats.  This season though he is tied for the most fumbles in the league with five as sportsbooks stats show and now he may have lost his starting job.  Last week in sportsbooks betting the Texans benched Slaton and went with Ryan Moats who ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns.  The Texans rallied after trailing early to rout the Buffalo Bills 31-10 in sportsbooks betting.

Houston head coach Gary Kubiak has not named starter for Sunday in a key sportsbooks betting game against Indianapolis.  “They know they’re all going to play and they know they’re all going to be a part of what we’re doing, so I just think we keep working them,” Kubiak said. “Obviously, Ryan earned some time on the football field the way he played. But we’ve got to get all three of them ready to play.”

The Texans are not giving up on Slaton because they know his ability is needed as sportsbooks info showed.  This sportsbooks betting season he has started slowly with only 342 yards rushing and two touchdowns.  He does have 314 yards receiving and three receiving touchdowns.   The Texans are still rooting for him though including left tackle Duane Brown. “Everyone here has so much belief in Steve and what he can do,” Brown said. “It’s just about him bouncing back and this will definitely be a big week to do it. We’re going to need everyone to get this win and he’s a very key part of this team and what we have going.”

Houston is trying to get Slaton to get past his tendency to fumble.  They are doing drills all the time focusing on getting Slaton to hang onto the ball.

Slaton has started 23 straight sportsbooks betting games for the Texans but that streak might end on Sunday.  Houston is an underdog at sportsbooks this week in their matchup against Indianapolis.
