Sportbooks online had the NFL suspending Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe for violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing substances. The suspension is for a total of four games and although it probably won’t affect Kansas City’s odds at the offshore sportsbook, Bowe was their leading receiver.
Sportbooks online had Bowe with 33 catches this season which leads the team. He had six catches for 91 yards last weekend in the win at Oakland. The Chiefs have only won twice this season and in their other win against Washington, Bowe had 109 yards.
Bowe is in his third sportbooks online season in the NFL. He was a first-round draft pick in 2007 out of LSU. He has played 40 games in his NFL career and has 189 catches for 2,483 yards and 16 TDs. Kansas City won last week at Oakland but overall in sportbooks online action they have just five wins in their last 35 games. They host Pittsburgh this week and are big underdogs at the offshore sportsbook.
Last season Bowe had 86 catches which was a Kansas City single-season record for wide receivers. He had 1,022 yards and seven touchdowns as sportbooks online stats showed. He had 70 catches for 995 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie year which broke Kansas City records. Bowe leads the Chiefs this offshore sportsbook season with four touchdowns. That tells you just how bad the Kansas City offense really is. They are 30th in the league in total yards and 27th in the league in points scored.
It was expected that with the addition of head coach Todd Haley who is known for offense and with the addition of Matt Cassel at quarterback that Kansas City would score points but it hasn’t happened very often. Bowe has had his issues with Haley as have other players. Larry Johnson was cut by the team after his disparaging remarks and now the team loses Bowe for four sportbooks online games because of a drug violation. Things are not bright in Kansas City for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs are 2-7 straight up and 4-5 against the odds at sportbooks online this season. They are 1-3 against the number at home. At home, three of their four games have gone under, and they have gone over the offshore sportsbook total in only four of their nine games this season.
