Sportsbook – Chelsea Loss at Liverpool Opens up Premier League Race

Sportsbook – Chelsea Loss at Liverpool Opens up Premier League Race. Chelsea is still the favorite at the sportsbook to win the Premier League this season but things have gotten a lot more interesting. Chelsea lost at Liverpool last week by a score of 2-0 and that really tightened the Premier League standings.  Fernando Torres scored twice and Liverpool got the upset against the soccer odds at the sportsbook against first place Chelsea.

Torres Burns Chelsea
Fernando Torres scored twice to change the Premier League race.  Chelsea was rolling along at the top of the league and in good shape but the loss at Liverpool has tightened things considerably. Now Chelsea is just two points ahead of Manchester United and five up on Arsenal and Manchester City.  Chelsea had given up just three goals in 10 league matches but they gave up two to Torres.

Five Points Separates Top Four Teams
Chelsea leads the Premier League with 25 points but now they are just two clear of Manchester United.  Arsenal blew a golden chance to move up as they were beaten at home by Newcastle.  How can you lose at home to Newcastle?  It just proved that Arsenal is a fraud and has no real chance to compete for a title this season.  United doesn’t even have a healthy Wayne Rooney and yet they are unbeaten and just two points back of Chelsea.  Manchester City is also part of the race as they are five points back. This is the key week for City as they play United in the Derby.  If City can get the win they would hand United their first loss of the season and keep the pressure on Chelsea.

Midweek Games
On Tuesday in soccer odds at the sports book it is Birmingham at Stoke City and Sunderland at Tottenham.  On Wednesday, the rest of the league is in action. The match we mentioned earlier has United at City in a game that will be shown on ESPN 2 and popular to wager on at the Sbg sportsbook. Also on Wednesday it is Blackpool at Aston Villa, Fulham at Chelsea, Blackburn at Newcastle, West Brom at West Ham, Liverpool at Wigan, Bolton at Everton and Arsenal at Wolverhampton. The biggest favorite this week at the sportsbook is Chelsea who is expected to take out their frustrations at home against Fulham.
