Sportsbook – Manny Ramirez Retires in Disgrace and fans are heartbroken. The four top teams in the Premier League are solid favorites at the sportsbook for Week 11. The Tampa Bay Rays were hoping that Manny Ramirez would help their offense but the Rays have struggled vs. the odds at the sportsbook and Ramirez is now in retirement. Tampa Bay was expected to fall a little bit this season vs. baseball odds at the sportsbook but few people expected them to start 1-8. The retirement of Ramirez was a shock to many but the reason Manny retired was that he didn’t want to get suspended for 100 games.
All of Manny’s Numbers are Tainted
Manny Ramirez goes into retirement with great numbers. They are so good that he would have been a sure Hall of Famer if not for his use of performance-enhancing substances. Manny tested positive last year and was suspended for 50 games and he would have been suspended for 100 games this season. Instead, Ramirez chose to retire. Ramirez is not going to get into the Hall of Fame just like other players who are suspected of steroid use. Mark McGwire has never received much support from the voters no has Rafael Palmeiro. Manny will be another player whose great numbers were enhanced by steroids. Ramirez actually will have even less of a chance than McGwire or Palmeiro because Manny has tested positive twice for performance enhancers.
Manny’s Career Looked at Differently
There is no question that we look at Manny Ramirez differently now. His numbers are simply a fraud. He has tested positive twice and the New York Times reported he was on the list of players who tested positive back in 2003. We have no idea how far back is steroid use goes. He had some great numbers with the Indians and Yankees and was a star for a brief time in Los Angeles with the Dodgers. Boston fans loved Manny as he led them to their first World Series title in 86 years. It is hard for anyone at the sportsbook to have much respect for Manny now. He is now lumped in with a number of other players who are tied to steroid use.
Hope for Rays is Gone
With the retirement of Manny Ramirez the hopes of Tampa Bay vs. the odds at SBG are also gone for this season. The Rays rolled the dice on Ramirez and Johnny Damon and it came up snake eyes. Tampa can’t score any runs and is going to be a team to go against at the sportsbook this season.
