Sportsbook Rankings Overrated at SBG Global

Sportsbook fans have seen Alabama head coach Nick Saban work miracles with former coach Mike Schula’s palyers since taking over the reigns at the school. The team has gone from a middle of the pack SEC team in the online sportsbook odds to the number ranked team in the land.  But the good times in Tuscaloosa won’t last and the Tide will be knocked from its lofty sportsbook perch in the weeks to come.

Sportsbook odds makers liked the look of this Tide team in the preseason but almost no one could fathom that the team would be number one in the online sportsbook rankings this late in the season.  But a number of factors have converged, not the least of which the fact that this is a very good team, to create the perfect sportsbook environment for the Tide to rise in the rankings.  Being from the SEC, still the toughest conference in sportsbook action despite what Big 12 online sportsbook fans might say, automatically gives this team clout.  And when the conference front runners like Georiga, Florida and LSU all lost early the Tide was there to rise in the ranks.

The team’s major upset over Georgia in the online sportsbook odds also went a long in helping the team’s cause.  But that’s also the problem with this team, they’ve built they’re entire sportsbook season –and number one ranking in the online sportsbook world- on that single victory.  And while knocking off one of the top teams in the country is a major event, it turns out that the Georgia Bulldogs aren’t even that good.  Having given up 50 points to Florida and LSU in consecutive weeks, the Dawgs are not a top team.

Add to that the fact that the Tide barely got past LSU in their recent sportsbook match up this team just doesn’t look like the number one team in the land.  But, as generally happens in sportsbook college football action, this situation will sort itself out.  The Tide has already booked its spot in the conference sportsbook championship game and will likely face Florida.

Florida will destroy the Tide nine times out of ten in a head to head sportsbook match up.  The Gators defense should brutalize the Tides mediocre QB and hinder Alabama’s powerful running attack enough to give Tim Tebow all the chances he needs to get the sportsbook victory and an invite to the BCS Championship game.
