Sportsbook Website – Brewster in Gopher Hole

Sportsbook website news about Minnesota Golden Gopher head coach Tim Brewster’s potential firing will be heating up to full blast after a 34-23 home loss to Northern Illinois.

Regression
Brewster is in his fourth season on the job at Minnesota after taking over for Glen Mason, who was the most successful Minnesota coach since the 1960’s.  Mason may have rubbed fans wrong with his arrogance but he also kept them happy with regular bowl appearances and upset wins over traditional Big Ten powerhouses such as Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan.  Mason was done in by a combination of his personality and for his team blowing a huge lead to Texas Tech in the 2007 Insight Bowl.  Fans and handicappers would gladly take the Mason days over what Brewster has produced, as the Golden Gophers are 15-27 under his watch.

Failure to Deliver
Brewster was hired out of the NFL ranks and had never been a head coach.  He was sold to fans and sportsbook handicappers as an ace recruiter who would be able to take the program to the next level.  He was seen as a nice new face for a program heading into an expensive new on campus outdoor stadium.  Brewster has produced back to back Insight Bowl seasons but is now overseeing a program that is imploding at SBG.

Total Humiliation
Minnesota had already suffered a 41-38 home loss to Division 1-AA South Dakota in their home opener.  They played hard two weeks ago in a 32-21 home loss to USC but were beaten last Saturday in a 34-23 home loss to Northern Illinois as 4 point home chalks to fall to a season record of 1-3 both straight up and against the spread and are the least appealing Big Ten team at a sportsbook website.  While Northern Illinois is a solid Mid American Conference team a Big Ten program cannot lose home games to them and be able to be taken seriously.

Defenseless
Minnesota ranks as one of the worst defensive teams in the country as they are 85th overall for yards allowed and an even worse 95th in the country for points allowed.  In their last 3 games they have allowed 41, 32, and 34 points and against only one team that is of BCS caliber.

Sportsbook Loser
Minnesota has now paid out in just 5 out of their last 18 games as they gush red ink at a rapid rate.
