Tom Brady Wins NFL Comeback Player of the Year

Sportsbook had Tom Brady winning the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award on Wednesday. Brady was injured in the first sportsbook game of the 2008 regular season and did not make his return until this season.  The Patriots were a force again with Brady at quarterback and they are favored this week at the Internet sportsbook as they host the Baltimore Ravens in playoff action.

Sportsbook had Brady getting 19 votes to just beat out Tampa Bay running back Carnell “Cadillac Williams who got 14 votes.  Brady winning the award was not a huge surprise since he led New England to a 10-6 sportsbook regular season and the AFC East title.  Sportsbook stats had him throwing for 4,398 yards and 28 touchdowns this season. “I think missing all of last season was a very challenging experience because I love to play the game,” Brady said, “I love to play the sport, and to not have the opportunity to be out there with my teammates in a season where we had some great opportunities to repeat what we had done in the 2007 season … things happen.”

Brady may have won the Comeback Player of the Year award but this Internet sportsbook season was not his best. He was great at times this sportsbook year and at other times he was just average.  He was great in a 59-0 rout of Tennessee in sportsbook results. He was also great against Jacksonville in that sportsbook rout.  He was not very good in sportsbook losses to the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints. He was still the team leader though as Internet sportsbook showed and head coach Bill Belichick said he deserved the award. “Well deserved,” Belichick said, “He’s had a tremendous year. I think we all know that. Tom just brings so much to this team and our organization on and off the field: his preparation, his leadership, his performance, his unselfishness. All the things that he gives us are just top shelf, whether he did or didn’t play last year.”

Cadillac Williams was just as impressive as sportsbook info showed, considering he had to come back from two knee surgeries.  He rushed for 821 yards and four TDs plus he caught 29 balls and had three receiving TDs as Internet sportsbook stats had it.  Sportsbook numbers also had Tennessee quarterback Vince Young, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, Cincinnati running back Cedric Benson, quarterback Carson Palmer, and Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove receiving votes.
