Top Three in BCS Standings Remain Close Online Sportbooks

Online sportsbooks continue to favor Florida, Texas and Alabama each week in college football. Those three teams have been at the top of the Bowl Championship Series standings and that continues this week. Here is a look at the rankings and teams to watch at the Internet sportsbook.

Online sportsbooks indicate that Florida remains #1 in the BCS standings but Texas jumped over Alabama into #2. Those three teams have a pretty good lead in the standings over fourth place Iowa and fifth place Cincinnati. The BCS standings have everything in place for the title game if things continue on as they have. Florida and Alabama are on track to meet in the SEC title game and the winner of that game would play in the BCS title game. Texas is set to play the winner of that game if they remain unbeaten. Iowa and Cincinnati have to hope that Texas loses if they are to make the title game and be on the board at the Internet sportsbook.

TCU sits in sixth position in the BCS standings followed by Boise State, Oregon, LSU and Georgia Tech. Alabama gets a test this week in online sportsbooks odds as they host LSU. The BCS could have a serious shakeup if the Tigers were able to upset the Crimson Tide this week in Internet sportsbook results.

Penn State is now #11 in the BCS standings followed by USC who dropped seven spots to #12. Pittsburgh is now 13th in the standings as online sportsbooks have it followed by Utah and Houston. Ohio State sits at #16 while Miami of Florida is 17th. Arizona is 18th while Oklahoma State is 19th and California is 20th. The last five are Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma and South Florida.

The bottom of this poll is important since Notre Dame needs to move into the Top 14 to get an at large BCS bowl berth and be a team to watch at the Internet sportsbook.

The odds at the online sportsbooks this week have Alabama as a nine-point home favorite against LSU. That is the key game that will impact the BCS standings this week as online sportsbooks note unless one of the top teams is upset by an inferior team. The other game of note this week that will affect the middle of the standings is in Happy Valley as Penn State hosts Ohio State. The Nittany Lions are 3.5 point favorites at online sportsbooks.
