U.S. Soccer Forward Charlie Davies Hurt Sportsbooks Online

Sportbooks online had United States soccer forward Charlie Davies suffering serious injuries in a car crash on Tuesday that killed another person. Davies came out of surgery in serious but stable condition. The U.S. team has already qualified for the 2010 World Cup although they are not one of the sports betting favorites at the offshore sportsbook.

Sportbooks online had the United States finishing up World Cup qualifying against Costa Rica.  Whether the team gets Davies back for the 2010 World Cup is definitely in question but at the moment everyone surrounding the team was happy that Davies came out of a serious car crash alive. Davies had broken bones and a lacerated bladder. The tibia and femur in Davies’ right leg were broken and he also had facial fractures and a fracture in his left elbow. Reports had Davies as a passenger in the back seat of the car and wearing his seat belt.  Considering the serious nature of the crash, wearing that seat belt may have saved his life.

Sportbooks online stats at the offshore sportsbook had Charlie Davies scoring four goals in 17 games with the U.S. national team.  Davies is expected to undergo further surgeries to repair the injuries. “Injuries of this nature usually require a recovery period of six to 12 months and extensive rehabilitation,” said Dr. Dan Kalbac, a U.S. team doctor, “Due to Charlie’s fitness level, his prognosis for recovery and his ability to resume high-level competition is substantially improved.”

Details of the accident are still sketchy although it did occur after 3 am in the morning in a DC suburb.  There were three drivers in the car.  Ashley J. Roberta was killed while the unidentified driver was taken to Washington Hospital Center Medstar.  The U.S. team was in Washington for a World Cup qualifying match on Wednesday against Costa Rica. The U.S. team is already in the World Cup while Costa Rica needed a win or a Honduras sportbooks online loss at the offshore sportsbook to make it.

Davies played 78 minutes in the U.S. 3-2 sportbooks online victory over Honduras on Saturday.  His first appearance with the U.S. team was in 2007 as sportbooks online stats show. This online betting season Davies played in 13 sportbooks online games and started nine of them and had three goals and three assists.  Offshore sportsbook shows that the U.S. team will have a roster spot open if Davies does not return and that might mean a spot for Adu or Kenny Cooper.
