Sportbook has six teams still unbeaten in college football and they are ranked one through six in the latest Associated Press poll. Florida, Texas and Alabama are the three top teams and the ones considered major threats at the offshore sportsbook to win the national title. Here is a look at the AP Top 25 teams for this week in college football.
Sportbook had Florida getting 39 first-place votes while Texas received 10 and Alabama 11. TCU moved up to #4 as sportsbook indicated while Cincinnati is #5 and Boise State #6. One team that fell out of the Top 25 rankings was Oklahoma but they are no longer ranked after losing last week in offshore sportsbook results to Nebraska. Notre Dame and California also dropped out of the rankings this sportbook week. Oklahoma and Notre Dame were ranked as sportbook indicated even though they probably should have been out of the poll long ago.
The rest of the Top 10 as sportbook notes begins with Georgia Tech at #7 followed by Pittsburgh, LSU and Ohio State. The Buckeyes got a huge win last week defeating Penn State and now they control the Big 10 title race. If they win at home this week against Iowa in the sportbook matchup they will go to the Rose Bowl.
USC is still highly ranked even though they have done little to warrant that ranking in terms of sportbook results. The Trojans are #11 followed by Miami of Florida and Houston. Oregon is 14th with Iowa at #15. Utah is #16 and they are followed by Oklahoma State, Arizona, Penn State and Virginia Tech. Wisconsin is ranked 21st followed by BYU, South Florida, Clemson and Stanford as sportbook has it. Clemson is in the Top 25 for the first time this season and they control the ACC Atlantic Division after their win over Florida State last week in sportbook results.
The top of the poll should sort itself out to some extent before the sportbook season is over. Florida and Alabama will meet in the SEC title game and if both remain unbeaten the winner will play in the national title game. If Texas remains unbeaten they would be in that game as well as offshore sportsbook notes. Even there are three other unbeaten teams remaining they have no chance of playing in the title game unless something unforeseen happens.
