Virginia Tech and FSU Highlight ACC Sportsbook Odds

Virginia Tech and FSU Highlight ACC Sportsbook Odds. Sportsbook ACC odds are interesting to follow with two powerful teams leading the way. Virginia Tech is the team in the Coastal Division to follow at the sports book while Florida State gets the attention in the Atlantic.

Sportsbook attention in the ACC in 2009 will be focused on Virginia Tech.  If the Hokies can win their opener against Alabama they have a chance to run the table and be part of the national title picture.  Virginia Tech is the even money favorite at the sportsbook to win the Coastal Division this season.  Georgia Tech and North Carolina are the 2-1 second choices at the sportsbook.  Miami of Florida is 2.5 to win to win the division at the sports book.  Virginia is a longshot at 8-1 while Duke has really no shot at 17-1 at the sports book.

The Atlantic Division has Florida State the even money favorite with Clemson and North Carolina State the 2-1 second choices at the sportsbook.  Wake Forest is the 4-1 fourth choice at the sportsbook while Maryland is 7-1 and Boston College 8-1.  The Atlantic is definitely more wide open than the Coastal in 2009 in terms of sportsbook lines.

The ACC has not gotten the sports betting attention at the sportsbook of some other conferences recently.  That is due to Florida State and Miami’s recent failures.  They are no longer considered the best teams in the country anymore.  Virginia Tech even slipped a little bit but they are considered a title contender in 2009 at the sports book.  The Hokies have a reasonable schedule and could be a factor all season in the ACC and possibly in the national title picture if everything goes just right.

While Florida State has had the national reputation of being very good, the reality is somewhat different at the sportsbook. The Seminoles haven’t done anything in recent years in online sports betting and their sportsbook numbers have fallen.  A lot is expected of Florida State in 2009 but it remains to be seen if Bobby Bowden still has what it takes to coach a top team as the Seminoles simply haven’t been that great in recent seasons.

The ACC should be a competitive conference in terms of sportsbook lines in 2009.  There are many teams with a chance to make an impact including the top two of Virginia Tech and Florida State.
