Week #1 Preseason Games at the Online Sportsbook

Online sportsbook action always heats up when the NFL gets underway. The 2009 NFL preseason schedule at the sportsbook kicks off on Sunday, August 9th with the Hall of Fame Game from Canton, Ohio as the Buffalo Bills face the Tennessee Titans.   The Titans are favored at the sportsbook in this preseason opener.

Online sportsbook odds for Week 1 of the preseason actually begin on Thursday, September 13th since the Hall of Fame Game is considered an extra game.  The Ravens host the Redskins in the battle for Washington while the Philadelphia Eagles host the New England Patriots in what should be a competitive game in sportsbook odds.  This will be Tom Brady’s first game since last year’s injury so it should get some attention at the sportsbook even though Brady probably won’t play long.

That game that will draw the most attention on Thursday at the sportsbook is a Super Bowl rematch as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Arizona Cardinals.  If you believe in revenge then you might want to take an online betting shot with the underdog Cardinals at the sportsbook although how much revenge you get out of a preseason game is definitely in debate.  Also on Thursday it will be the Oakland Raiders hosting the Dallas Cowboys in a game that should attract attention at the sportsbook.

Friday, August 14th there are more games on the board at the sportsbook for Week 1 of the NFL preseason. Sports betting information tells us that the New York Jets will showcase first round pick Mark Sanchez as they host the St. Louis Rams while Brett Favre could be with the Vikings as they travel to Indianapolis.  Also on Friday, online sportsbook odds have the New Orleans Saints hosting the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver at San Francisco.  That game could be interesting on the sportsbook board since a quarterback battle is underway in San Francisco while a new regime leads the Broncos.

Saturday, August 15th has more games on the sportsbook board for Week 1 of the preseason. Atlanta is at Detroit, Chicago is at Buffalo, Tampa Bay at Tennessee, Houston at Kansas City, Cleveland at Green Bay and Seattle at San Diego on the sportsbook board.  Monday night at the sportsbook has Jacksonville at Miami and Carolina at the New York Giants on ESPN.
