Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez lived up to his status as boxing odds favorite and not only knocked out Amir Khan to retain his WBC middleweight title. Khan put on the weight that would qualify him challenge Alvarez for the strap, but the outcome was anything but unpredictable. Khan shouldn’t even have been in the ring in the first place; the real challenger was looking on from ringside. Gennady Golovkin has dominated the middleweight division for years with 32 knockouts in 35 career professional bouts. He holds the highest KO percentage in the history of the division. Triple G might be the most dangerous boxer right now and no one wants to step in the ring with him. A Golovkin vs. Alvarez fight is what fans want and what boxing needs but that doesn’t mean it’s a given.
Conor McGregor has good – not great – sports betting odds of taking Floyd Mayweather to a decision in a boxing ring, said Joe Rogan. According to the podcaster, sports commentator, and stand-up comedian, Mayweather is older his punches not what they used to be. If they were to fight in MMA, Conor McGregor would “{expletive deleted} (Mayweather) up”, but in a boxing match, Mayweather would {expletive deleted} (McGregor) up.” Regardless of the fact that Floyd is not a “murderous puncher” like Canelo Alvarez or Gennady Golovkin, and that once you turn 39 you never know, Rogan thinks Mayweather is one the greatest boxers of all time.
Conor McGregor versus Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather would be the biggest inter-promotional fight since Thunderlips versus Rocky Balboa – or Mayweather versus The Big Show, if you want to keep things somewhat in the real world. It would be so big in fact that it would probably “break the Internet” – as kids are fond of saying these days – if it were to happen (or at least the part of the Internet town where UFC and boxing odds sportsbooks operate). It sounds almost too good to be true, which would suggest that it is not.
Going by nicknames alone, Amir King Khan would be the odds-on favorite versus Saul Canelo Álvarez, if you bet on boxing on Saturday 7th. For you monolinguals out there, Canelo in Spanish is the masculine word for cinnamon, on account of his red hair.
With the boxing odds posted for the upcoming WBC World Middleweight Title fight between Canelo and Khan, we take a look into this main event.
If you bet on boxing, then bet on Gennady Golovkin. He is a certified G and a bona fide stud, and you can't teach that. In fact he is a Triple G – or GGG. Where does that third G come from? Gee, I don’t know. He just comes up with extra letters out of hammerspace. That’s just how badass he is. Golovkin has knocked out 21 dudes in a row – enough to make a montage set to a Survivor song. He is 34-0 and only two guys have lasted more than 8 rounds with him.
After the lackluster “fight of the century” last year, Manny Pacquiao returns to the boxing ring to cap the trilogy versus Tim Bradley and SBG Global sportsbook the boxing odds for one of the biggest fights of the year. Although this must be one of Manny’s fights that has the least amount of excitement among fans betting on boxing, he is still a name in the sport of boxing that draws a lot of attention to the sport in times where fans are not as interested.
In what might be his final fight in his career, or at least in his contract with Showtime, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be taking on Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 12. To say that Mayweather is the favorite for this bout would be an extreme understatement as he has -10000 betting odds to win. Meanwhile, Berto is only listed at +1600 by our sportsbook to win.
