Continue ReadingAs I take a look at the 2nd half of the 2014 MLB season, here are some predictions that are a good guess in my book! Why not a guess, since the hitters try to guess what the pitcher will throw next, while the pitcher tries to guess what the hitter is thinking, and manager will guess what reliever they should use next, and we fans and reporters are second-guessing all. Thus, this may lead to some not so correct guessing. And if that’s what you were thinking, then you probably guessed correctly.
Continue ReadingOver the past some 85 years the MLB All-Star game has been a tradition in Baseball and each year it has grown in popularity and importance for the sport. Starting back in 2003 this All-Star game became a show piece ofthe best of baseball and the competition for home field advantage, all of which has made the All-Star game more exciting.
This year’s game was close with the final score 5-3 with the American League beating the National League while the Los Angeles star outfielder Mike Trout was designated as the 2014 All-Star Most Valuable Player after he had two hits that scored two runs and he scored a run for the American League as well.

Continue ReadingThe MLB trade deadline is fast approaching, and the baseball betting landscape could irrevocably change in the days leading to July, 31st. In the most recent trading news, the Washington Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals have designated Greg Dobbs and Pete Kozma for assignment, respectively.
According to MLB betting lines, if the World Series started today, it would pit the American League’s Detroit Tigers or Oakland Athletics versus the National League’s Los Angeles Dodgers or San Francisco Giants. Regardless of which teams make it though, the AL representative would be the favorite to become the 2014 to win the 110th edition of Major League Baseball's championship series. Current champions the Boston Red Sox are nowhere near the title picture, and the loved/hated New York Yankees are just outside of the top ten contenders.
There are a few MLB betting favorites to win the World Series, but individual performance is also rewarded in the form of the National League and American League Most Valuable Player awards. Last year’s NL MVP Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates has good odds of repeating like his AL counterpart Miguel Cabrera did in 2012 and 2013. Cabrera himself has a good chance of pulling threepeat, but neither he nor McCutchen are in the lead at the moment. McCutchen is in fact trailing Troy Tulowitzki and Giancarlo Stanton (formerly known as Mike).
